Creative Writing

To compliment my Graphic & Interactive Design, I also did some Creative Writing. Here is some of my written work I have done alongside my design work.

This piece is called “Should Statues Really Be Torn Down” and it is about the debate over the sudden removal of statues of people who did some messed up things. Is it ok to just remove the past with no consequences?

This piece is called “Steampunk and its Correlation to Victorian England” and it is about the steampunk genre and all the little aesthetics that came from it. Does this genre relate to Victorian England at all or does it only take design cues for the basis of a subgenre of sci-fi?

This piece is called “Children: Isolation Needs to Stop and Social Media is not Helping” and it is a White Paper going through the psychological problem our children face today with how they’re being raised. Is it for protection and at what cost to their development?

This piece is called “Macbeth: Free Will and Destiny and how Crucial are They” and it is an analysis of the Shakespeare play Macbeth and how the elements of destiny and free will really played a role in the tragic events that unfold in the play.

Cinemagraphs

This cinemagraph is an example of motion in a still image. I took a frame from the video portion and made it the focus, overlaying it on top of the video. Then I masked the two layers so the movement is where I want it to be.

GIFs

This GIF is an example of turning a video into a GIF. I filmed this as a video and then got transformed into frames for a GIF. Also, because of the way I filmed the video, the GIF loops which makes it seem more natural than if I stayed sitting there.

This GIF (Graphic Interchange Format) is an example of how to animate a simple typeface. With a simple wipe, it became more active than a static typeface.

Stop Motion

This is an example of stop motion using objects. I took 5 Amiibo figures (video game figures) to make this little showcase of video game icons with Bowser as well.

This is an example of stop motion using objects. I used a toy taxi to demo how a basic stop motion works with the images required and the minimalistic movement to make certain parts flow better.

This video is another example of stop motion with objects, except this time it is a Transformers toy. What makes the difference here is the complexity of doing this with Transformers, because of the extra moving parts, especially with this guy and his 6 transformations. This became my most popular video of all time.

Hobby Work

Hobby Work

Photography

Alongside my Graphic Design work, I also did some photography. From still life shots, to an experimental shot with a mirror, to landscapes and some with a narrative to them.

Other Artwork

Alongside my Graphic Design work, I also did some other art related work.

This work was on Color Theory and all of it was done with paints. These include painting a still life, gathering color from an old poster and making it a collage, and turning part of a colored image into greyscale.

Film & Video

Alongside my Graphic Design work, I also did some film and video work. After all, I have a Youtube channel that I post content of all kinds, and the video below was done with help from some friends of mine.

This short film is a friendship retrospective, since I want to hear how old friends of mine feel about our friendship and what attracted them to me. To frame the story, it is two of my current friends having a fun weekend playing video games while I interview them on my qualities as a person while my older friends’ opinions play in the background.
